Swim

The artwork Garden World

Water is crucial to organic life on earth. Swim presents a bitmap of blue-green water, interrupted by smaller dots of coloured figures who rise above its surface then shrink into the distance.

Artificial consciousness might not have a material form that could be called a body as it would likely co-exist in multiple locations, networked across the earth. Its relationship and experience with and of the material world, and water in particular, would be very different to that of humans.

Swim is an artwork that reflects on differences of perception and experience. Although the artwork shows blocks of colours, on close inspection these blocks are not mathematically exact. The appreciation of the imperfect is a crucial attribute and experience of life.
